Saturday Seminar: Decorative Sticker Sheets

I love using the decorative sticker sheets in my planner, on cards, on postcards, or anywhere else.  I also love to make clips with the larger ones!  They are so much fun to play with!

Luckily we get these cute puffy sticker clip ones in the kits sometimes that you can make clips with.  Cocoa Daisy is even nice enough to send us paper clips to go with them!  I love this part of the kit!  Such a great detail to add in!

The decorative sticker sheets are so great to use to fill space in your planner.  Either while you plan, or after the fact and you notice one of your days is light.  The count on these sheets will vary each month depending on what sort of artwork is on them. But it’s fun to use all of them!!

Here I have used one to fill in space that I wasn’t using on a light planned day.

Here I used one to help Decorate my Birthday!

20170323_164714

Here is one of the puffy stickers to decorate on one of my dashboards.  I use the puffy stickers mostly on my dashboards to help with the bulk.  Even though these puffy stickers are not very thick sometimes they can add just a little too much bulk to my pages.

20170323_164756

I also like to use the puffy stickers on my Faux Pocket dashboard, to add some decoration to it!

20170323_164817

The word stickers on the decorative sheets are also functional sometimes and can be used to top lists and things!

20170323_164847

Here is the big circle puffy stickers as a clip in my planner, as well in the foreground you can see the banner stickers have also been used to make a clip by placing 2 of the banners back to back with a clip in between,  for these and the circular ones I like to add a little E-6000 glue in the middle to keep them together better then the sticky backing can, especially if you are in and out of your planner all day it’s nice to have a little added adhesive!

20170323_165006

Use your stickers everywhere and anywhere you want to!  Functional and Decorative stickers both!  Layer them with washi tape, or die cuts.  Add some marker or pen around them to give them a frame.  They are there to help you with your planning, and make it fun!

Happy Planning!

Saturday Seminar: a5 Sticker Sheet

It’s Saturday Seminar time!  This week we are showcasing the a5 Sticker sheet that you get in the Cocoa Daisy Planner kit.

20170317_201519

I have only used a few of this one so far, but as I am writing this post I am using more!!  It is so much fun to play with the stickers for sure!

So lets go through all the stickers on the sheet

  • 2 month banner stickers
  • 2 title stickers
  • 6 flags
  • 4 dot word stickers
  • 2 fold over tab stickers
  • 4 – 1/4 circle stickers
  • 4 large arrows, some date specific
  • 6 mini dots inside 6 hole reinforcements, or paper donuts I like to call them
  • 1 landscape short decor banner
  • 4 list toppers
  • 1 tracker or to do list
  • 2 tags, you could also use the 2 tiny dots inside the top of the tags as well!
  • 8 arrow head shapes
  • 1 Cocoa Daisy Heart
  • 3 stars
  • 4 duo colored hearts
  • 1 large decor circle

If you count the 8 tiny dots inside a few of the stickers you have 63 stickers!

I have quite a few ideas for these stickers, and some of them have yet to be implimented so for those ones I will do my best to describe what I am thinking!!

The March banner, as well as the blank banner can be used for the front of your dori decorating, or on the month at a glance or month on 2 pages view, those pages do already say march, but if you wanted to change it up a bit you totally could stick them right over top of the existing month wording, you could layer it with washi tape too!

20170317_202732

I cut off the beveled edge of one of the title stickers, and stuck it onto my spring cleaning top tab.  I did have the sticker from the tab stickers on there, but then put this one over top because I liked it better!

20170317_202518

The fold over tab stickers I used for my March Blog Plan Page, and I also made a bookmark to easily find the week I am in.  I used a piece of vellum, the edge that I cut off for my meal plan tip ins, some die cuts, and stickers to spruce it up!

20170317_202554

I used the shorter Decor banner, with bonjour on it on the bottom of the bookmark as well, you could laminate the bookmark as well, but this month was just a trial for me so I left it unlaminated.  I think I will do the bookmark again, and laminate it at the same time that I do my dashboards to save a sheet of lamination!!

The duo colored shapes, could again be used as more temperature trackers!  Oh yay!  More dates that I can track weather with fun stickers!.  If you read my last Saturday Seminar, I used the duo colored circles for this purpose!

For ring bound planner girls the donut holes are a no brainer, use them to reinforce one day, one week, or just randomly through your month!  The dots inside could be more bullets or todo lists!

20170317_202959

I didn’t have an appointment to use one of these 1/4 circle stickers, so I just used it as decoration on one of my less busy days!

The large, some date specific arrows are super fun as well!  Cocoa Daisy has even included the dates you should use them on to help guide you!  Isn’t that fantastic!  In my March 6-12 Plan with Me video I used the hop forward one because while my clocks don’t change where I live, my Mom’s do, so I wanted to remember that!

IMG_1990.JPG

I used the large circle decor sticker on my front cover, I also made a process video on how I made that as well!  The tags, and flags could also be used for decorating your cover, or for filler on your not so busy days!

The list toppers work great for shopping lists, I used one on the shopping list I made in my March 13-19 Plan with Me video.

As a fun added tip, you could even cut out and use the Cocoa Daisy logo as a sticker to mark important dates like Sneak Peeks on the 15th of the month, or release day on the 28th of the month!  Now if there is anything you want to be sure to have in your planner it is those 2 dates!!

Happy Planning!

Tutorial: Travel Sticker Book

It’s nice to carry stickers on the go, but not all that nice if they fall out of what ever you are carrying them in!!

IMG_20170317_085502

I decided that I wanted to be able to carry some planning stickers with me so that when I am out and about planning that I could use some of the stickers that I like to use in my planning.

20170317_192705.jpg

I however didn’t want to just carry loose sheets of stickers that I had to stuff back into my planner each time I wanted to use them, hence the Travel Sticker Book!

I did a short tutorial on how mine is done up and I hope you will enjoy it!

Saturday Seminar: Day and Date Sticker Sheet

So often we get a sheet of stickers that we have trouble using, or just want to look for other ways of using.

Today, I am going to show you how I am currently using the Day and Date sticker sheet that you get in the Cocoa Daisy Planner kit.

Because of course I am well into the month of March planning, I have used most of this sheet, but this gives you an idea of what the sheet we are going to be talking about looks like.

fullsizeoutput_fca

So lets go through all the stickers on the sheet

  • 8 tiny arrows
  • 4 bullet vertical flags
  • 8 tear drops
  • 16 small solid circles
  • 6 large 1/2 split circles
  • 6 small 1/2 split circles
  • 6 house shape arrows
  • 8 small 2 colored arrows
  • 4 large 2 colored arrows
  • 31 numbered banners, and 1 shape banner
  • 13 word banners

Thats 110 stickers all on one little sheet!  Amazing!!

The date/numbered banners are easy, I use them each month to date my days in my planner, I usually do this during my initial planner set up at the end of the month previous. This way if I have planning to do before the month I am currently in is done, I at least can put sticky notes in the right place in my new dori.  As you can see I didn’t use the last date banner, but you could use it and write a previous months date on it if your week doesn’t begin on Monday or Sunday.

The tiny arrows I used to mark how much the trip to the mechanic was, but they could be used for work hours, or cleaning zones, or even to point to something you need to pay attention to.

fullsizeoutput_fcb

The tear drop I used to signify a shopping excursion, but they could be used for pretty much anything that you want to ad a “bullet” to.  for ladies, you could used them as your personal trackers as well, if you like to track that sort of stuff, or need to :).

The small solid circles could also be used for “bullets” on your lists, you could also use them on your monthly calendar to signify something is happening on that day if you don’t wish to write tiny on the front calendar in the dori’s.

fullsizeoutput_fcc

The bullet vertical flags align perfectly with the grid on the front section of the dori’s.  I use them for daily to do’s sometimes if there are a few things that just need to be done without going anywhere.  You can also use the word banners here to signify to do’s, they fit right inside the grids as well!

I also use the word banners to separate my important tasks on my tip out page, I find it very easy to categorize my tasks with them, and again there is grid on this page, and the banners fit quite nicely within the grid!

fullsizeoutput_fc7

I’ve decided that on the days that I want to track the weather that I would use the split circle stickers, and write the highs on the top half of the circle and the lows on the bottom half of the circle. (these temps are all in Celsius in case you were wondering)  You could also use them turned the other way so the split is up and down as well, or even wrap them on the edge of your page to signify something important just by glancing at the edges of your dori.

fullsizeoutput_fc9

The tiny little houses, I have been using to signify household bill dates, you could either write in the amount of the bill due, but I found it was easier to write in just an abbreviation of the bill on each little house, if you have more then 6 household bills, you could use the large or the small 2 colored arrows as well for tracking.

To keep things neat and tidy on your planner you could fit the 2 colored arrows in the bottom of the date flags as well if you wanted to keep things in the same spot each day.  This is something that is best set up when you do your first planning in your dori, decide where things are going and to keep things cohesive, put them in that spot on each day, so that you know where to look if you are just quickly glancing over your pages.

I really hope you have enjoyed my post about this sticker sheet!  There is no right or wrong way to use any of the stickers on any of the sheets, what ever they do for you, is what you should use them for.  I hope my take on them was inspirational to you!

Happy Planning!

Tutorial: Envelope Dashboard

Today I bring you the Envelope Dashboard.  I recently did a walk-though of my February set up, and in it I showed off my envelope dashboards.

As you can see they are super cute, and super useful, you can put anything in them.  I do all 4 of my dashboards with them, so that I have an envelope for work receipts, home receipts, coupons and loose notes or other things I get that I don’t have time to find a proper place for in my planner.

Here are the supplies you need:

Here is the tutorial!  Enjoy!

Clips, Quotes and Doodles

For the last few days I have been playing around in my Cocoa Daisy planner.  Doing some decorating, and writing a bit.  Planning more in it as we get closer to the start of February.  I have been planning some videos to do, and planning more blog posts that I hope you’ll enjoy!

img_1398

Playing with the puffy stickers from February I made a few clips, the heart one, which is so adorable and such an awesome idea.  It comes as a sticker with the little area to fold over a paperclip, and then the two puffy sides stick together to make the heart clip.  So Fun!

The circular ones are the puffy circles that come on the sticker sheet.  You get 4 circles, so I used the Simon, and the donut on one clip, and the cup, and the planner nerd on other clip!  Then I could flip them around for a different look.

img_1413

I also finally decided on what I am doing for February in the divided blank sections.  I am going to practice my handwriting and doodling with some quotes that I like. I can’t wait to find more to add into my pages and practice different writing fonts as I go!   I used some of the Cocoa Daisy Washi Tape to decorate a little on the top of the page as well.

The next kits are coming soon for Cocoa Daisy, sign-ups for the April ones will start March 2!!  The best value is the 6 month subscription,  There are different sizes available from A5 binder style all the way to Mini Travelers Notebook style.  They announced this month that the add on kit was so popular in subscriptions that it sold out!  So to make sure you don’t miss out on it, subscribe early and subscribe to what you want!!  I am subscribed to the Personal Dori, and the planner add on kit, and I may try the dashboards subscription out as well to give me a few for my laminated dashboard envelopes that I like to have around my inserts in my planner!

Cocoa Daisy

I am so excited to share with you some new things!!

I have recently joined a planner supply club called Cocoa Daisy, and each month I will receive some super cute supplies for my travelers notebooks!  In this club each month you receive a travelers notebook insert, stickers, washi tape, diecuts, double sided papers, clips, stamps, notepads, sticky notes, page tabs, and other cute things!  Each month is designed to match, and make planning fun!

I would like to be able to share unboxing videos, maybe even some planning videos, photos and even some tutorials!  I am really looking forward to this club and how different each month is!!

img_1351

I have placed a couple of small orders before my first kit for the month of March arrives, and I love the quality of the items.  They don’t feel like cheaply made items that are going to stop working after the first use.  The Daisy dori, or travelers notebook insert which is for February, has very nice paper in it, the notebook has a calendar on the front page, 5-6 pages of divided grid pages, it has some blank and lined note pages, and then 5-6 pages of divided blank pages.  The initial plan for me, is to plan in the first set of 5-6 grid pages, and then journal in the second set of 5-6 blank pages, we will see how well that works with February before my actual kits start arriving!!

IMG_1367.JPG

The colors in these kits are just wonderful and I can’t wait for more!!  I look forward to sharing my ideas with these kits as they arrive and I start to have fun with them!!
